Implementing Taboola's recommendations is a simple, straightforward process that requires little code experience or expertise. Before getting started, there are a few basic things to consider that will determine which widget codes are most appropriate for your site, as well as the functionality of those units.
What type of website are you running?
WordPress: For those who want to implement without having to touch their code, we provide a plugin for quick implementation on WordPress sites.
What type(s) of content would you like to recommend?
Taboola’s recommendations offer the ability to serve sponsored content, recirculated organic content, or a mix of both (hybrid). Different widget code is required for each configuration, so it’s helpful to have a sense of what your goals might be, both now and in the future.
Are you running a single site or a network?
If you have multiple sites that use an identical page layout, Taboola offers the ability to expedite implementation by creating widgets for an entire network at once, while breaking out reporting for each one of those domains separately in our reporting dashboard.
Is your site mobile or responsive?
Will you have separate pages for mobile and desktop, or is your page responsive across devices? Taboola supports both practices, but in different ways, so defining a mobile strategy ahead of time is helpful.
Any alternative implementations like Single Page Applications, Infinite Scroll
Taboola supports these implementation types, but they do require additional code to provide our widget with all the information it needs.
