Taboola is a large network helping businesses across the globe by providing content which is relevant, interesting and new to audiences. Taboola is continuously working around the clock to make sure that there is no misleading or inappropriate content running on the Taboola network and to keep it safe for advertisers, publishers and the audience. In order to provide and ensure a quality and consistent service, we have full-time teams monitoring publisher content uploaded to the Taboola network, to make sure publishers are aligned with Taboola’s Publisher Policies. This means that, when a publisher works with Taboola, all the content within that publisher’s website is subject to the company’s policies.
Taboola’s Publisher Policies prohibit certain types of content from being discovered (i.e. monetized or distributed) on its network, including, among other things, “fake news”, pornography, content that infringes third-party copyrights, defamatory and threatening content and criminal activity. These guidelines apply equally to all publishers, in order to maintain the network’s safety and compliance with the laws. Taboola reserves the right to update the Taboola Publisher Policies at any time to keep them updated in accordance with constantly changing policies, regulations and laws.
While Taboola encourages freedom of speech, and prides itself on its ability to maintain a wide variety of views within its network, freedom in its essence may be subject to formalities and conditions as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society. Taboola recognizes that different cultures and countries have different laws and traditions, and that one size does not necessarily fit all, so it is doing its best at properly addressing different cultures and countries when it comes to policy.
Before Taboola agrees to work with any partner, basic due diligence is performed on their content by our teams who review the website to ensure that there is no inappropriate, or illegal content. Upon signing a contract with Taboola, publishers and advertisers agree to Taboola’s content policies. Specific implementation guidelines are reserved for internal users to ensure publishers comply with the spirit rather than the letter of the policy.
Taboola’s publishers should always be transparent and available for review by Taboola’s policy team, and if violations of our agreements or policies are found, appropriate action will be taken.
We hope that all publishers working with us will have a long and successful partnership with Taboola.
